Ready for a career glowup As Assistant Merchant youll help shape brand strategies and build product assortments that set trends and drive category success. The work you do will impact beauty as you bring new brands to life support negotiations and help deliver the products our clients crave often before they even know they want them. What Youll Do:
- Build detailed weekly/monthly/semi-annually sales analyses for brand portfolio performance while supporting the team to identify sales opportunities
- Manage brand and all secondary out of home assortments in collaboration with our store update/visual merchandising teams including productivity timelines of updates and comp collection where necessary
- Manage vendor relationships for price changes testers/damages Return to Vendor (RTV) and compliance submission follow-up
- Review and approve all in-store brand visual elements handle the planograms for brands and multi-branded spaces
- Manage the promo process including initiating discussions with brands making strategic recommendations for offers and verifying all submissions for SKU and pricing accuracy
- Manage SKU creation and maintenance price updates Invoice Review Queue launch and delist timing and action and markdown chargeback process while providing support to our field teams with category related issues via our Hotline Online tool
- Collaborate with the Planning and Sephora US to support inventory and sales forecasting
What Youll Bring:
- 2 years of experience being an assistant buyer/merchandiser/planner for a large retailer
- A bachelors degree or college diploma in retail management or a related field
- You are curious and willing to take calculated risks to source and develop new opportunities to grow the business
- You love product (beauty is your jam!) understand consumer trends and behaviour and inspire fearlessness in everything that you do
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and relish in working collaboratively with cross-functional groups
- Youve mastered the art of negotiation and love solving problems using your analytical skills
- Youre technically savvy and have experience using merchant systems and MS Office suite
- You understand the Canadian marketplace and corresponding vendor organization and have knowledge of the Canadian cosmetic industry corresponding Health Canada regulations and requirements for product compliance in Canada
- Fluently bilingual in French and English (written and spoken) is an asset
