The Equipment Manager reports to the Director of Machinery & Equipment and is responsible for the equipment needs of the Stanley Park Project based in Vancouver. This includes:
- Taking care of external rentals of heavy equipment and small tools from suppliers their rates and complete invoicing;
- Plan and coordinate the movement of equipment on site;
- Meet site requirements for equipment either by purchase rental or internal transfer;
- Optimize equipment utilization and ensure profitability;
- Monitor equipment usage reports and optimize with the site;
- Weekly updating the Location of equipment and required equipment;
- Participate in start-of-shift and planning meetings;
- Develop annual equipment budgets for the contract;
- Monitor equipment numbering and equipment immobilization sheets if required;
- Negotiate rental agreements for light trucks and small tools if required;
- Perform comparative technical analyses of equipment for decision-making purposes;
- Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities on equipment belonging to the joint venture;
- Purchase requisitions for parts and materials required for maintenance and repair of JV-owned equipment;
- Maintain up-to-date information on preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs performed on JV-owned equipment.
Requirements
- Experience with heavy construction equipment;
- Must be fluent both written and spoken English (French an asset);
- Must be available for a 5-day civil engineering work schedule on the Stanley Park project.
