Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with Japanese accounting standards and internal policies.
Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile exchange accounts bank accounts crypto wallets and general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Crypto Transactions and Accounting: Manage the accounting and reporting of cryptocurrency transactions including purchases sales trades and wallets ensuring proper treatment of crypto assets in line with regulatory guidelines.
Internal Controls and Audit: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Assist with internal and external audits.
Financial Analysis: Provide analysis on financial performance and provide insights into cost-saving opportunities and revenue optimization for the exchange operations.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local and global regulatory requirements for cryptocurrencies and ensure the exchanges compliance with Japanese financial regulations such as those set by the Financial Services Agency (FSA).
Tax Compliance: Handle all tax-related matters including preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate tax consumption tax and other relevant taxes) according to Japanese tax laws.
Collaboration: Work closely with the global finance team and other departments (legal operations compliance) to ensure smooth operations and reporting.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Accountancy Finance or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
46 years of relevant experience in Finance&Accounting.
Strong communication skills in English and Japanese verbally and in writing
Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment with excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
