About the Role
Client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to serve as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. You will analyze complex business processes elicit and document requirements and drive solutions that support strategic objectives and operational improvements within the Investment Banking domain.
This is a hybrid role based in Jersey City NJ requiring strong domain knowledge of investment banking operations excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering: Lead stakeholder interviews workshops and document analysis to capture business needs pain points and opportunities.

Process Analysis & Improvement: Map current state processes (using Visio Lucidchart etc.) identify inefficiencies and propose automated or streamlined workflows.

Functional Specifications: Translate business requirements into clear actionable user stories acceptance criteria and functional specifications for development teams.

SDLC & Agile Support: Partner with product owners developers and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle from backlog refinement to UAT and deployment.

Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate ongoing collaboration between business users (trading operations risk finance) and IT teams ensuring alignment and transparency.

Reporting & Dashboards: Prepare status reports metrics dashboards (Tableau Power BI or Excel) and decision-support documentation for management.

Testing & Training: Support testing efforts (functional regression UAT) and assist in creating training materials and end-user documentation.

| Agile & SDLC | Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies including user story writing backlog grooming and sprint planning |
| Tools | Hands-on experience with JIRA Confluence Excel (advanced) and Tableau (or similar visualization tools) |
| Soft Skills | Excellent communication facilitation problem-solving and stakeholder management ability to bridge business and technical language |
| Certification | CBAP PMI-PBA or equivalent is a plus but not required |
Nice to Have (Preferred)
