18 James - Med Surg Onc -D/N or Night - AYA OFFER - 6/1 START DATE ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED! Unit Information: Mixed acuity PCU/MS Tele unit caring for medical oncology patients Approx 24 beds of PCU and 24 beds of MS Tele Schedule: *Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule *First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor *If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract you may be scheduled for days nights or a combination of both depending on the department s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. Patient Diagnoses: Variety of diagnoses from solid tumors to some blood cancers HIGH acuity patient population. Chemotherapy competence is not required for unit but we are willing to help with professional development and send you to our 2-day chemo course for training if interested. Special Procedures/Unit Details: -Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by perm staff. Pediatric experience is NOT required to be agency RN here. -Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Special Equipment: B450 monitors GE telemetry system. Bladder Scanner. Alaris pumps. Continuous Bladder Irrigation PCA Pumps Requirements: 2 years of oncology experience preferred but NOT REQUIRED Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Required Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
