Job Summary
TITLE: Elementary Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: KY Elementary Principal Certification
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
JOBGOAL: To exercise leadership supervision and administrative skills which promote the effective educational development of all students.
PERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works effectively within a School Based Decision making governance structure.
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
- Initiates designs and implements programs to meet the specific needs of the school.
- Provides sound instructional leasership.
- Prepares and administers the school budget.
- Supervises the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
- Supervises all personnel assigned to the school.
- Assists in the recruiting screening hiring training and assigning of personnel.
- Complies with all provisions of the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990.
- Administers the evaluation of Certified and Classified personnel in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Assumes responsibilities for maintaining an effective professional staff development program for all staff assigned to the school.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy school plant and enviroment.
- Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with parents and the community.
- Complies with all federal state and local laws/regulations.
- Promotes attendance in an aggressive manner with the goal to maintain a minimum 96% attendance rate.
