Job Summary
The 68 Intervention Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality individualized instruction to students with disabilities. This role involves managing a caseload of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) collaborating with general education teachers in inclusive settings and ensuring students make progress toward both state standards and personal developmental Responsibilities1. Instructional Design & DeliveryModify and adapt the 6-8 general education curriculum to ensure accessibility while maintaining alignment with Ohios Learning direct instruction in small groups or 1:1 settings focusing on academic social and executive functioning Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) and Assistive Technology to support diverse learning styles.2. IEP Management & ComplianceServe as the Case Manager for assigned students overseeing the drafting implementation and annual review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as rigorous documentation of student progress toward IEP goals using data to drive instructional adjustments.3. Collaboration & Co-TeachingPartner with general education teachers in a Push-in or Co-teaching model to support students in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and transition planning.4. Middle School Specific DutiesSupport the social-emotional development of students during the transition from childhood to transition planning into the IEP for students aged 14 and older (per Ohio law) focusing on post-secondary goals and independent living.
