Job Summary
Assess the training needs of businesses and develop and implement workforce development and special industry training programs and services in collaboration with business and industry partners.
Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners. Provide ongoing support to businesses and their employees.
Secure funding for workforce development and special industry training initiatives and apprenticeships.
Manage the OJT tracking tool in current and future apprenticeship programs.
Stay up to date on the latest workforce development trends and best practices.
Prepare and present reports to senior administration on the success of workforce development and special industry training programs and services.
Establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students prospective students faculty other staff governmental entities and the public that further the colleges workforce development mission.
In partnership with the Vice President of Student Services establish enrollment goals and marketing plans to ensure Brownsville Campus programs are fully populated. Engage in student recruitment activities.
Counsel/advise students in areas such as academic performance attendance and financial aid.
Oversee day-to-day operations and entities performing contracted services on the campus.
Coordinate scheduling of campus events/facilities usage.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Workforce Development and the Vice President of Student Services.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in human resources workforce development education or a related field.
A minimum of five years of experience in workforce development or training and development.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Possess a proven track record of establishing productive external relationships with business and industry.
Demonstrated abilities in leadership human relations communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
Experience in securing funding for workforce development initiatives preferred.
Strong project management skills.
