Position Summary
Temporary instructional assistant position for the SHAPA Pod located in Scappoose Oregon. This is a part-time long-term substitute assignment providing instructional continuity for an extended period. The position serves a recurring instructional schedule through at least the end of May.
Position Overview
Assignment: In-person instructional assistantfor up to 30 students
Grade Levels: Grade 6through Grade 12
Subjects: Multiple subjects
Location: 33404 SW JP W Rd Scappoose OR 97056
Schedule: Tuesdays through Thursdays 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.
Pay Rate: $25 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support a positive engaging learning environment where students feel safe included and motivated to learn
- Work alongside the Pod Teacher to implement daily lessons activities and routines
- Build strong supportive relationships with students and encourage cooperation respect and confidence
- Assist with classroom management and help keep students focused and on task
- Observe student progress and share updates or concerns with the Pod Teacher
- Help prepare materials and support day-to-day classroom operations
- Assist with attendance and basic recordkeeping
- Communicate professionally with staff and families following school guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working with students or children in an instructional educational or supervision setting (such as classrooms childcare tutoring or similar environments)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional coursework in education or a related field is preferred but not required
Additional Requirements
Successful completion of required background checks and fingerprinting
Ability to comply with all school policies and procedures
