Job Summary

Description

The Cooks Helper provides essential support to the culinary team by assisting cooks in the preparation of recipes and food items maintaining compliance with the Executive Chefs specifications quality expectations and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Prepare sautés broiled fried baked and grilled food items in accordance to kitchen needs.
Helping to do preparation work; cutting slicing dicing etc.
Perform various job duties that will include in assisting the operation of grill fryer broiler oven and French top in accordance with kitchen needs.
Perform preliminary preparation work in a timely manner.
Ensures ingredient supply levels are accurate.
Move items from shelves to carts and transport to assigned stations for restocking purposes.
Maintains the required par of food items in their assigned station from support areas throughout the property.
Understand proper safety and health codes and regulations and maintain them regularly.
Ensure all areas assigned are clean and free of debris
To assist with any other job related duties that may be assigned.
Work requires effective communication in English both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
Work requires a minimum of two years experience as a cook.
Work requires a neat appearance with good personal hygiene.
Two years fry cook experience is required.
Previous experience cooking eggs is preferred.
Previous work experience with a point of sales system is preferred.
Must be able to provide your own tools including a chefs knife carving/slicing knife metal spatula metal tongs carving fork and a paring knife.
Must be able to work any day of the week and during any shift.
Must be able to get along with co-workers and must be able to work as a team.

Qualifications

Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods
Work effectively in a loud fastpaced environment while handling multiple tasks under time constraints
Perform physical activities throughout the shift including standing walking bending pushing pulling lifting and reaching
Manage heavy business volumes efficiently and in a timely manner
Push carts weighing up to 70 lbs and lift full pots weighing up to 100 lbs
Perform repetitive motions such as stirring and bending at the waist
Tolerate extreme hot and cold working conditions
