Job Overview
The Social Media Specialist will lead organic social content strategy and community engagement across a portfolio of retail brands. This role is responsible for creating impactful platform-native content that strengthens brand trust drives engagement and supports business objectives.
You will own the full lifecycle of social content-from ideation to execution-while ensuring consistency in brand voice and continuously optimizing performance through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy & Content Development
Develop and execute organic social media strategies aligned with brand and business goals (engagement retention revenue)
Plan create and publish social content across platforms from concept to launch
Translate marketing and go-to-market campaigns into social-first creative
Content Planning & Execution
Manage social content calendars (organic paid) ensuring consistency in tone voice and cadence
Coordinate with marketing creative and project teams for content development and approvals
Continuously test new content formats messaging and timing strategies
Community Engagement
Monitor and respond to comments messages and interactions across platforms
Ensure all responses are timely accurate and aligned with brand and legal guidelines
Escalate sensitive or reputational issues appropriately
Performance & Optimization
Analyze social media performance metrics (engagement CTR conversions sentiment)
Provide actionable insights and optimization recommendations
Track platform trends cultural moments and emerging best practices
Collaboration & Innovation
Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing Creative Go-to-Market)
Proactively pitch new ideas campaigns and experiments
Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Business or related field
3 years of experience in social media marketing content creation or community management
Strong understanding of platforms: Facebook Instagram X TikTok LinkedIn YouTube
Experience with social media tools (publishing analytics listening moderation)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience pitching creative social media campaigns and test ideas
Proven ability to grow and evolve a brands social presence
Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Workfront or similar)
Experience with social listening and monitoring tools
Exposure to energy utilities or consumer-facing industries (nice to have)
Physical & Work Requirements

Regular computer and online communication usage
