The Opportunity

You will be part of the PHOTON Devops team. The PHOTON scrum team is Worldlines KAFKA integration team.

You will be working in the team which is responsible for the Real time message processing using Kafka as event streaming this team you will work together with your colleagues in a (scaled) Agile way. You will be working in a team with Developers Testers Technical Application Managers Scrum Masters Product Owner and Analysts. The team develops maintains and optimizes new and existing services in the area of Messaging/integration.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change step up and show whats next people with passion can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and practice this means:

• Build and manage real-time data pipelines and event streams with Apache Kafka including topics producers/consumers and schema management
• Build and manage Java applications to produce/stream/consume data to/from Kafka topics
• Design implement and maintain integration routes and enterprise integration patterns using Apache Camel to connect upstream and downstream systems
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for integration components using Jenkins GitLab CI or similar tools with automated quality gates
• Write and maintain automated tests using Test containers Camel Test JUnit and Kafka test utilities
• Provide technical leadership code reviews and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to design decisions/documentation.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes with Helm implementing secure and scalable deployment practices
• Implement monitoring logging and tracing solutions whilst optimising performance and reliability
• Troubleshoot production issues perform root-cause analysis and implement durable fixes.
• Collaborate with architects product owners and engineers to translate requirements into scalable integration solutions
• Ensure security compliance and data governance within integrations including authentication authorization and encryption

Who Are We Looking For

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change step up and show whats next people with passion can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and practice this means:

• Solid hands-on experience with Apache Camel in Java (Java DSL or Spring Camel) and strong understanding of Apache Kafka ecosystem
• Substantial experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerisation technologies including Docker Kubernetes and Helm
• Strong programming skills in Java with experience using build tools (Maven/Gradle) and REST/SOAP APIs
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP) and familiarity with monitoring stacks (Prometheus Grafana ELK/EFK)
• Excellent problem-solving debugging and communication skills with ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional Agile teams
