Initial Contact Worker

We are working closely alongside a local authority in Bromley to assist with the appointment of a Initial Contact Worker on a 3-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 99.15 - 130.70 per day

Summary:

The Initial Contact Worker serves as the primary front-line representative for Bromley Councils Adult Services. Working within the Assessment & Care Management Division the role is responsible for providing high-quality prompt and effective information and advice to the public and healthcare professionals. The post holder acts as a triage point determining if individuals have care and support needs identifying safeguarding risks and steering residents toward community-based support and universal services.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all enquiries via telephone email or post in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Determine if a person or carer has support needs that require a formal assessment and refer them accordingly.
• Steer individuals toward community support and universal services to promote independence.
• Work jointly with Social Workers Occupational Therapists and other professional colleagues particularly on cases involving high risk or complex needs.

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 2 Award in Customer Services or Social Care or the ability to demonstrate equivalent skills.
• A good standard of general education including literacy and numeracy

Essentials:

• Extensive experience in a customer-facing environment providing high levels of service.
• Proven experience handling high volumes of telephone and email enquiries consistently.
• Understanding of the Care Act 2014 Mental Capacity Act 2005 and other relevant adult social care legislation.
