Job Summary
Client Services Delivery is the main operational delivery division within Social Security Scotland. Our teams deliver a wide range of benefits and services to those most in need across Scotland. This includes people on low incomes disabled people carers young people entering the workplace and to help people heat their homes.
The primary role of the Decision Support Manager is to provide an expert resource within Social Security Scotland to support the decision making process from a legal and policy perspective within teams and the wider agency. As a Decision Support Manager you will be responsible for managing the Decision Support Team function.
As part of the Decision Support Team you will play a crucial role in providing a top quality service whilst upholding our values that clients and colleagues should be treated with dignity fairness and respect.
In this role you will be joining the Operational Delivery Profession which is a recognised Civil Service profession and the largest profession within Social Security Scotland. As a client facing organisation delivering benefits to the people of Scotland being part of the profession recognises theimportant roleyou will undertake.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Support develop and maintain the long-term strategy objectives and areas of responsibility for the Decision Support Team.
- Provide strategic leadership across the Decision Support team to facilitate core functions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Scottish Government and Social Security Scotland by developing and nurturing relationships.
- Be a visible and engaging leader that builds the capability of their team by coaching and mentoring staff on a range of procedural and leadership areas.
- Promote continuous improvement by leading on performance ensuring deadlines are met. Interpret and analyse complex information to identify and address performance variation to deliver improved quality outcomes.
- Advise on complex matters manage workflow and carry out quality assurance taking corrective action where required.
- Line management of Decision Support team staff members leading and supporting their development and training.

Hybrid Working
We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location.
