The RLSW is the home for the 3 Logistic Support Sqns of the RAFs Support Force. Providing logistic specialists (Drivers Suppliers and Chefs) technicians (GS Mech and Electrical) and RAF Police Personnel. Based at RAF Wittering HQ RLSW overseas the activities of 501 (County of Gloucester) Sqn (RAF Brize Norton) 504 (County of Nottingham) Sqn (RAF Wittering) and 605 (County of Warwick) Sqn (RAF Cosford). The Wing and its sqns support exercises and operations in the UK and overseas.
Working as part of the RLSW Command Group the Trg Off will be responsible to OC RLSW for the effective management governance and assurance of trg across all three RLSW Sqns. Additionally they will lead on the integration of reservists into the Collective and Individual Trg battle rhythm of the Support Force.
Specifically they will be responsible for:
- Supporting RLSW Sqns in ensuring that all RLSW personnel are trained competent and appropriately authorised for the duties they perform iaw individual capability CONEMPs.
- Ensuringthe RLSW and its 3 Sqns Management of Training System (MTS) are compliant with the Defence Systems Approach to Training Quality Management Standard (DSAT QMS).
- Engaging withSqnOCs SptFceA7 Eng & Log Res HQandotherexternal stakeholders to develop andmaintainan Individual and CollectiveTrgBattle Rhythm in order toensure consistency of trg delivery and progression across the Wg.
- Overseeingthe productionimplementationand integrationof the SqnsAnnual Training Plans and associated professionaltrgprogrammes.
- Providing assurance to OC RLSW andWgOCs that training undertaken within the Wg is conductedin accordance withJSP 822 and AP8000.
- Leading directing and coordinating all RLSW training assurance activities and monitoring andoverseeingRLSWSqnstrgrelated documents (TQM SCD CRAand QIP).
- Assuringthat RLSW personnel involved inRAuxAFSqn training output are suitably competent and appropriately authorised for the task and duties theyare required toperform.
- Liaisingbetween RLSW and Support Force HQ A7 in relation to training matters and higher-level Support Force intentinitiativesand exercises. This includes acting as the RLSW liaison and/or representative for HQ exercise and training meetings boards and working groups.
- SupportingRLSWRAuxAFSqns in the preparation for 3rd Party OFSTED inspections to include maintenance Self-AssessmentiawDC&WF and the MODIF.
