Senior Manager, Data Reliability Engineering (8+ years, IaC, Data, Cloud)

The Data Reliability Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team focused on designing building and evolving cloud-native containerized infrastructure that powers our data products and services. This role plays a critical part in advancing our platform maturity by enabling cross-functional squads driving complex technical initiatives and ensuring the availability security scalability and reliability of our data ecosystem.

As a Manager you will bring strong leadership capabilities along with deep expertise in systems design cloud infrastructure networks databases and modern data technologies. You will be responsible for guiding and developing engineering talent setting priorities driving execution and partnering across teams to deliver resilient scalable and secure platform solutions. You will also help lead the adoption of new technologies infrastructure automation practices and operational excellence across high-scale distributed systems.

In this role you will balance technical leadership people management and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with engineering product and platform stakeholders to align team objectives with business priorities remove delivery obstacles and foster a culture of reliability accountability and continuous improvement

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. 

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD OR 11 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Systems or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience

3 years of experience managing teams focused in infrastructure engineering site reliability engineering platform engineering data engineering or a related technical discipline

Proven experience designing building and operating cloud-native containerized infrastructure that supports data products and services

Strong expertise in AWS or Azure cloud services including compute networking storage identity and access management and security Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes preferably in Azure or AWS Kubernetes Service or similar environments

Strong knowledge of systems design distributed systems networking databases and modern data platform technologies

Experience implementing and managing infrastructure as code automation and configuration management practices

Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives focused on availability scalability reliability security and operational excellence

Experience partnering with cross-functional teams including engineering platform security and product stakeholders

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction and align teams around shared priorities

Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage competing priorities across distributed teams
