Legal Manager

Job Title: Senior Manager / DGM Legal
Location: Mumbai
Function: Legal

Budget: 15 LPA to 25 LPA
Reporting To: VP Legal & Secretarial

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for managing end-to-end legal and compliance functions including contract management litigation regulatory compliance and legal advisory while supporting business operations across sales marketing and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Management

• Draft review and negotiate commercial agreements (sales distribution service marketing licensing etc.)

• Manage contract lifecycle templates and documentation

• Ensure contracts align with legal standards and business objectives

2. Compliance & Governance

• Monitor and manage compliance frameworks and tools

• Drive compliance audits reporting and dashboards

• Ensure adherence to local and international regulations

3. Litigation & Regulatory

• Handle pre-litigation and litigation matters

• Coordinate with external law firms and consultants

• Manage regulatory notices and legal risk mitigation

4. Legal Operations & Systems

• Develop and improve legal processes SOPs and systems

• Manage contract management compliance and documentation tools

• Maintain legal repositories and reporting mechanisms

5. Stakeholder Management

• Partner with sales marketing and business teams for legal support

• Collaborate with global legal teams and external stakeholders

• Provide proactive legal advisory and risk assessment

6. Trade Sanctions & Risk Management

• Manage trade sanctions compliance and advisory

• Stay updated on regulatory changes and global legal frameworks

• Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks

Must-Have Requirements

• LLB with 12 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)

• Strong experience in contract drafting & negotiation (commercial/sales agreements)

• Exposure to international contracting & cross-border legal advisory

• Experience in compliance management litigation and legal operations

• Knowledge of trade sanctions compliance & data privacy laws

• Experience working with external law firms and multi-geography stakeholders

Good to Have

• Experience in manufacturing / automotive / industrial sector

• Exposure to legal tech tools (contract/compliance management systems)

• Experience in process building and legal transformation initiatives
