Director, HR Operations and Compliance
Job Summary
The Director HR Operations & Compliance leads centralized HR operations across benefits compliance and HR systems ensuring scalable compliant and resilient service delivery across the organization. This role also serves as the primary HR leader for approximately 50 Perseus Head Office employees including senior leadership and manages a small team of HR professionals.
Reporting to the CEO this role is designed to support a decentralized HR operating model and a lean Head Office environment. This position owns and delivers centralized HR services and capabilities that create value reduce risk and enable portfolio HR Directors to lead effectively within their respective addition the role provides direct HR support to a small Head Office population ensuring consistent and compliant HR practices.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Benefits and Total Rewards:
Lead the centralized execution of benefits administration including enrollment ongoing administration and coordination withourparent company CSI brokers carriers and Total Rewards vendors
Develop and maintain standardized benefits resources and guidance to support portfolio HR teams in managing day-to-day employee inquiries
Serve as an escalation point for complex or sensitive benefits-related issues
Own the execution of the annual bonus process including creation and maintenance of bonus agreements coordination of approvals and distribution
Compensation Support & Market Data
Maintain accurate compensation data within HR systems to support reporting audits and planning processes
Support the development maintenance and governance of compensation structures including salary ranges and job leveling frameworks in partnership with Finance and HR leadership
Provide data-driven guidance to leaders on compensation-related matters ensuring alignment with market benchmarks internal consistency and compliance requirements
Compliance & Risk:
Oversee audits and documentation related to labor law compliance and employment practices
Maintain centralized policies employee handbooks and core HR documentation aligned with primary jurisdictions
Monitor new and evolving legislation for applicability across the businesses and assess organizational impact
Communicate compliance updates to stakeholders and coordinate required training system changes or process updates
HR Support for Perseus Head Office
Deliver end-to-end HR support for Perseus Head Office employees including onboarding offboarding and employee file management
Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and leaders on benefits HR policies and HR systems
Ensure accurate timely and confidential handling of HR records and transactions
Serve as the primary point of HR support and guidance for Perseus Head Office employees and leaders including senior leadership
Provide counsel on employee relations matters such as performance management workplace concerns policy interpretation and sensitive employee situations escalating as appropriate
Support effective people management through coaching guidance and timely resolution of HR-related issues
Leadership Coordination and Compilation
Act as the primary HR point of contact with the parent company for annual and ad-hoc requests including employee data leadership development initiativesquarterly board reporting and ESG-related reporting
Manage centralized HR vendor relationships and contracts
Represent Perseus on applicable CSI HR committees and working groups
Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
Lead and develop a team of approximately three HR professionals focused on benefits compliance and Workday HRIS administration
Partner closely with portfolio Human Resource Directors who serve as key internal customers to deliver effective benefits Workday and compliance processes and tools
Drive continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility adapting services and solutions to evolving business needs strategy and industry best practices
Qualifications and Experience
10 years of progressive HR experience with significant focus on HR operations benefits and compliance
Prior people leadership experience including coaching and development of HR professionals
Experience operating in a multi-entity decentralized or portfolio-based environment
Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and compliance practices acrossdomestic and internationaljurisdictions
Hands-on experience with Workday
Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence without direct authority
High attention to detail strong judgmentfocus on continuous improvementand a service-oriented mindset
Salary Range (Ontario & BC Only):
The estimated base salary range for this role is CAD$153000.00 - CAD$187000.00 per year.
