Job Title: Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery
Location: Manhattan NY
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule: Day Shift 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor delivery and immediate postpartum period. The RN will work collaboratively with obstetricians midwives and the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor delivery and postpartum
- Monitor maternal and fetal status including vital signs and fetal heart monitoring
- Assist with labor management deliveries and emergency interventions
- Administer medications IV therapies and conscious sedation as required
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
- Educate patients and families on labor delivery and newborn care
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with hospital standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care when necessary
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child (L&D) experience
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active New York State RN License
- Primary Source Verification through NYSED
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- ACLS Certification (AHA)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
