Job Summary

Position Summary


The School Psychologist supports the academic social-emotional and behavioral development of students in a K12 public school setting. This role involves conducting psychological assessments collaborating with educators and families developing intervention strategies and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education and student services.

Qualifications

  1. Masters or Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology
  2. Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
  3. Knowledge of psychological assessment tools and techniques
  4. Knowledge of public school law ethics and standards of practice for School Psychology
  5. Strong communication collaboration and problem-solving skills
  6. Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and response to intervention (RTI)
  7. Ability to be self-directed responsible and complete work within prescribed timelines
  8. Ability to work collaboratively with all school stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations for students to determine eligibility for special education services
  • Interpret assessment data to identify learning behavioral and emotional needs
  • Prepare detailed evaluation reports and present findings to multidisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with teachers administrators and parents to develop effective intervention strategies
  • Assists parents in locating available educational and mental health resources in the community
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Assist in streamlining processes related to interventions and MTSS
  • Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings
  • Provide recommendations for instructional strategies and classroom accommodations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records
  • Provide training and support to staff on topics such as behavior management mental health and trauma-informed practices
  • Maintain professional skills through attending relevant in-service trainings reading current literature and professional memberships
  • Perform related duties as assigned
