Job Summary

Thomson Reuters is transforming the future of professional software. We are looking for a Vice President of Product Engineering to lead a strategically important organization within our Tax technology portfolio. This leader will have end-to-end engineering responsibility for our Tax and Compliance product lines while partnering closely with Product and other senior leaders to shape the next generation of AI-enabled platforms workflow solutions and customer experiences. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who wants to do more than run delivery. This position is open to any of our hub locations across the US and CAN including: Eagan MN Frisco TX Ann Arbor MI New York NY and Toronto ON.

About the Role

As Vice President of Product Engineering Tax Accounting and Audit Professionals you will:

  • Lead engineering strategy execution and organizational performance for a globally used portfolio of tax and accounting products.

  • Partner closely with Product leadership to shape roadmap influence prioritization and bring new ideas to market.

  • Drive the portfolios AI strategy including practical applications of generative AI intelligent automation and agentic experiences.

  • Lead major transformation initiatives including product convergence platform modernization API-led integration and new product incubation.

  • Build and inspire a high-performing global engineering team across India the US the UK Canada and Mexico.

  • Establish strong operating rigor across delivery architecture quality security reliability and engineering excellence.

  • Serve as a senior technology voice with stakeholders across business product engineering and customer-facing teams.

About You

You are a fit for the role of Vice President of Product Engineering Tax Accounting and Audit Professionals if you possess the following:

Required experience:

  • 15 years in software engineering including leading leaders (Directors/Sr. Directors) and scaling product engineering organizations

  • Proven track record delivering mission-critical customer-facing B2B SaaS products at scale (cloud and hybrid) with strong quality and availability expectations

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Product Management to set strategy prioritize roadmaps and deliver measurable customer and business outcomes

  • Strong engineering fundamentals across architecture and platform modernization cloud services CI/CD observability/SRE secure SDLC privacy and scalable distributed systems

  • Experience delivering AI-enabled product capabilities (e.g. generative AI intelligent automation recommendations) with an understanding of responsible AI security and governance in production environments

  • Track record of building high-performing teams strong leadership benches and operating mechanisms across global matrixed organizations; effective leading through change

  • Executive presence with excellent communication stakeholder management and the ability to align senior leaders across product engineering and go-to-market

Preferred experience:

  • B2B SaaS or workflow software experience

  • Exposure to tax audit accounting or adjacent professional software domains

  • Experience building new products in addition to scaling and modernizing existing ones

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City San Francisco Los Angeles and/or Irvine CA; McLean VA; Washington DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $228000 USD - $424000 USD. For any eligible US locations unless otherwise noted the base compensation range for this role is $198200 USD - $368000 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individuals knowledge skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
