JOB PURPOSE:

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Livelihoods and Food Systems and the overall guidance of the Head of Programme the incumbent will take a leading role in ensuring that aggregation and pro-smallholder purchases are properly managed and coordinated. The incumbent will contribute to the daily planning and coordination of WFP Programme Operations and will work in close collaboration with the Supply ChainProcurement team including managing relationships with farmers agribusiness players producer and farmer associations UN agencies and relevant government departments. The incumbent will deliver on one of WFP Ukraines Livelihoods and Food Systems Strategy pillars which focuses on implementing a traceability system and increasing the share of pro-smallholder procurement from Ukraine. The position will be based in Kyiv with frequent field travel.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main responsibilities include (not all-inclusive within delegated authority and may be revised as per the evolving needs of the operations):

  • Contribute to the operationalization of WFP Ukraines 2025-2027 Food Systems and Livelihoods Strategy specifically focusing on the pillar that aims to implement a traceability system and increase the share of pro-smallholder procurement from Ukraine.
  • Manage partnerships and relations with small-scale farmers agribusiness private sector players and associations representing Ukrainian producers of grain pluses and vegetable oil to increase the share ofWFPspro-smallholder purchases from Ukraine.
  • Engage and coordinate with small-scalefarmersproducing WFPs basket of commodities to establish entry points for direct and indirect sourcing.
  • In coordination with the Partnerships team lead the project proposal preparation for the WFP Ukraine Agri-Hub model.
  • Manage internal and external relationships regarding the development and implementation of the WFP Ukraine Agri-Hub model.
  • Work closely with partners suchasFAO to ensure coordination and advocacy on the use of the SAR and support to small-scale farmers andSMEsclose to frontline areas.
  • In close collaboration withtheProcurement team contribute to the 2025/2026 sourcing plan and the definition of pro-smallholder targets.
  • Analyze data and contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) about the project supporting a WFP-wide view oflivelihoodsand food systems activities that enables informed decision-making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  • Performing other duties as assigned as per the needs of the operations.

Education and experience:

  • Advanced universitydegree in Agribusiness Logistics Food Systems Economics orarelated field.

  • Minimum6years of postgraduate professional experienceworking in agri-business and agriculture sector.Working in humanitarian or development assistance or similarfieldswith the UN and NGOs is an asset.

  • Experience in implementing agribusiness activities in Ukraine.

  • It is desirable to have experience in the commercial or humanitarian supply chain sectors including monitoring and reporting on agri-market conditions and trends coordinating procurement with farmers and ensuring compliance with buyer terms etc.

  • Experience working with corporate systems (databases software).

Key competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English language (English Level C)

  • Good computer skills and experienceinusing spreadsheets and database software

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working inamulticultural environment

  • Good analytical skills initiative and independence

  • Willing/able to work inhigh-stresssituations
