Location: Newark NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (5x8-Hour) 10:00 PM 6:00 AM
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality care in a long-term care dementia/neurobehavioral unit. This role involves supporting residents diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and other forms of dementia including individuals with complex or challenging behaviors. The ideal candidate is patient attentive and committed to delivering safe respectful and person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to residents in a dementia/neurobehavioral unit
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing grooming and feeding
- Monitor and report changes in residents physical and behavioral conditions
- Support residents with Alzheimers and dementia including those with challenging behaviors
- Maintain a safe calm and supportive environment
- Follow individualized care plans and established protocols
- Assist nursing staff with routine clinical tasks
- Accurately document care provided and observations
- Promote dignity respect and quality of life for all residents
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Prior experience in long-term care or dementia care preferred
- Ability to manage residents with neurobehavioral conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate patient-focused approach
