Outpatient Orthopedic Senior Physical Therapist | Medical Center University Rehab Therapies
Job Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Senior Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with complex physical dysfunctions disorders and/or injuries. This position will primarily work with patients experiencing orthopedic conditions in an outpatient setting at the Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City. Additionally this position covers our hemophilia multidisciplinary and outreach clinics.
Duties to include:
Provide exceptional patient care evaluation assessment and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs.
Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students.
Exhibit divisional and/or departmental leadership by:
oServing as a clinical resource and maintain a high level of clinical productivity.
oParticipate in clinical research and collaborate on special projects.
oAssist with setting and accomplishing divisional/departmental goals and assists management as necessary.
oDevelop implement and expand learning opportunities and skills development for staff & students.
oAssist in establishing innovative programs as well as maintaining and developing current programs.
oAssist in the administration of the departmental Quality Assurance program.
oParticipate in the development of service operations policies and procedures.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public.
Additional tasks/responsibilities as needed/assigned.

This position is full-time 100%.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy is required.
Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required.
2 years of experience in Physical Therapy is necessary with a high degree of understanding of patients with orthopedic dysfunctions.
Demonstrated skills in clinical education abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Desirable Qualifications:
3 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
3 years of experience collaborating with patients with orthopedic dysfunctions.
Experience with patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
Demonstrates leadership abilities.
Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
