Job Summary
As a Data Science Specialist reporting to the Head of Product Marketingyoullplay a meaningful role in transforming proprietary financial crime data into strategic insights thatdemonstratethe value of NasdaqVerafinsfraud detection and anti-money laundering solutions.
Youllthrive in this position ifyoureanalytical strategic and passionate about using data to fight financial crime while enabling business growth in a fast-paced high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze client deployment data to quantify solution ROI measuring fraud losses prevented efficiency gains and investigation time saved.
Leverage consortium data from 2700 financial institutions to produce industry benchmark reports and peer performance comparisons.
Partner with sales and marketing teams to create data-driven customer success stories case studies and presentation materials thatdemonstrateproduct effectiveness.
Monitor aggregated data toidentifyemerging fraud trends and money laundering patterns translating findings into thought leadership content.
Present analytical insights to customers and stakeholders in executive briefings quarterly business reviews and industry conferences.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors orMasters degree in Data Science Statistics Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in data science or analytics roles ideally in fraud detection AML banking or fintech.
Strongproficiencyin SQL and Python (or R) for data analysis and visualization.
Excellent communication skills with proven ability to translate complex findings into compelling narratives for non-technical audiences.
Collaborative mindset with experience working across marketing sales and product teams in a matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep knowledge of financial crime concepts fraud detection methodologies and AML compliance.
Experience withbig-dataframeworks (e.g. Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS).
Background in creating executive-level reports white papers or thought leadership content.
This position willbe located inSt. Johns or Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
