Job Summary

Summary

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with 34 years of experience to join our Infrastructure team. This role focuses on managing and deploying AWS cloud infrastructure implementing DevOps practices ensuring security compliance and providing enduser support. The successful candidate will work with a modern tech stack to deploy and maintain multitenant SaaS environments for our global client base.

Role

The Cloud Engineer helps maintain and improve our cloud platforms developing practical skills in infrastructure automation and security while supporting teams across the business to deliver and operate their services effectively. The main responsibilities are:

Public Cloud (AWS)

Support the design build and operation of secure multiaccount AWS environments using infrastructureascode. Assist with configuring core AWS services networking and container platforms while helping to improve reliability and manage costs under guidance from senior engineers.



DevOps

Help maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes. Contribute to automation and scripting work (e.g. Python Bash and IaC tools) to reduce manual effort standardise environments and support smooth repeatable releases.



Security

Follow established security practices and standards across infrastructure and operations. Assist with applying leastprivilege access managing secrets and supporting network and platform hardening activities working closely with senior team members and security stakeholders.



EndUser Management & Support

Provide daytoday technical support for infrastructure and deployment issues including assisting with access requests and permissions. Help maintain clear documentation and runbooks and collaborate with development and delivery teams to support stable wellunderstood environments.

Tech Stack

We work with a modern stack built for scale reliability and productivity. To be successful in this role youll need solid experience with some of the following tools and technologies:

  • Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (ECS EC2 RDS VPC etc.)
  • Identity & Access Management: Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) AWS IAM
  • Collaboration & Productivity: Microsoft 365 / Office 365 Jira Confluence Generative AI tools
  • CI/CD & DevOps: GitLab CI/CD Docker CloudFormation Sceptre Terraform
  • Monitoring & Logging: CloudWatch Elastic Stack
  • Information Security: SIEM Network Security Secret Management
  • Scripting & Automation: Python Bash/Shell scripting Linux command line

Required Qualifications & Experience

Degree or Certification

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience. Certifications such as RHCSA CKA or AWS Solutions Architect are desirable.



Experience

34 years of experience managing productiongrade cloud infrastructure.



Specific Skills or Tools

  • Strong knowledge and handson experience with core AWS services
  • Strong Linux/Unix commandline skills
  • Handson experience with InfrastructureasCode tools (Terraform CloudFormation or similar)
  • Handson experience with Docker and container orchestration
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD Jenkins or similar)
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Experience with Python scripting and automation



Knowledge

  • Good understanding of cloud architecture patterns and best practices
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (VPC subnets routing DNS etc.)
  • Understanding of security best practices in onpremises and cloud environments
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions
  • Understanding of ITIL practices



Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana)
  • Experience with multiaccount AWS Organizations
  • Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda Step Functions)
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries
  • Experience with enduser lifecycle and accessmanagement tooling (e.g. Azure Entra ID)
