Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Team Leader Protection Services the Supervisor Protection Services is responsible for leading assigned staff on shift and communicating with the Team Leader and Manager on-call after business hours as required. The Supervisor ensures the staff on shift follow departmental policies and procedures at the direction of the Team Leader. As well the Supervisor Protection Services maintains and enforces security of persons and property in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. If applicable transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and the incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Grade 12 successful completion of recognized Basic and Advanced Security Training certification Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level 2) plus three years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Holds a valid B.C. Security Guard License with applicable handcuff endorsement. Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License
