Job Summary

Central Office Secretary

Location: Roosevelt ISD Central Office
Reports To: Superintendent

Term: 12 months

Position Summary

The Central Office Secretary provides high-level administrative support to district leadership and ensures the efficient operation of the central office. This position serves as a key point of contact for staff students families and the public requiring professionalism discretion and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors phone calls and general inquiries providing excellent customer service
  • Provide administrative support to district leadership including scheduling meetings managing calendars and preparing correspondence
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail deliveries emails and district communications
  • Manage office supplies and ensure the central office operates efficiently
  • Support interdepartmental communication and coordination
  • Perform data entry and maintain databases as required
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information related to students staff and district operations
  • Perform other business office duties as assigned by administration including state agency reports and deposits

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred
  • Previous administrative or secretarial experience preferably in an educational setting

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer service-oriented with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

  • Office environment within a school district central administration building
  • Regular interaction with staff students parents and community members
  • Occasional extended hours for board meetings or special events

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of office materials (up to 40 lbs)
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment
