S.A. Comunale is seeking a Design Intern to support our Sebring branch.
The primary function of this position is to provide support to the Design Team.
This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast paced multi-tasked environment with a focus towards administration organization reporting and data management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to learn how to identify the building construction type as identified in most NFPA standards documentation.
- Assist in printing drawings and routing to correct departments.
- Ability to learn how to create weekly reports; reporting submittals and close-outs.
- Ability to learn how to perform daily filing functions submittals and transmittals by job.
- Pull files when Operation & Maintenance Manual is sent and place in Closed Out Job drawer.
- Ensure all filing is done neatly and cabinets remain organized.
- Copy scan save and file permits that are received.
- Perform revisions and resubmittals as requested file and make copies of any necessary information then follow same procedure as done with original submittal.
- Feed rolls of paper into plotter machine replace ink when needed and ensure all machines in Design Room are operating correctly.
- Handle heavy blueprints supplies machinery and tags in the proper manner requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Travel to job sites as needed and adhere to all safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university pursuing a bachelors degree in engineering or other similar degree junior level status or higher at the time of the internship is required.
- 2 years of administrative experience is a plus.
