Job Summary
Summary
The Chart Management Technician (CMT) is responsible for assuring that all patients records are prepared and scanned into the Horizon Patient Folder with the highest level of quality possible. The CMT is also responsible for indexing all documents to the appropriate patient folder and for ensuring each document is assigned the appropriate document name.
Education
High school or equivalent (GED).
Certification Registration & Licensure
None required.
Experience
One year experience in a health care facility preferred.
Responsibilities
Processes medical records with specific quality standardsas outlined in department quality metrics policy.
Processes daily allotment of medical records within work shift.
Able to perform all functions of role utilizing systems and following proper protocol.
Protects patients health care information (PHI) according to departmental and organizational standards.
Utilizes reference tools made available to ensure standardization and quality in process. Completes annual competency exams by due dates.
Processes urgent requests on a daily basis.
Processes medical records (inpatient series loose filing) and follows through on all tasks such as prep scan and index per defined policies and established procedures. Performs self-quality checks along the way to prevent quality errors.
Prioritizes work based on defined patient care impact.
