Job Summary

Position Overview

This role supports engineering and compliance activities related to NERC CIP standards within transmission substations. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with a Senior Engineer to analyze programmable electronic devices (PEDs) and cyber assets assist with system documentation and contribute to compliance-related evaluations and reporting.

The position provides hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance engineering assessments and audit preparation with an emphasis on developing technical and analytical capabilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Engineer in analyzing Programmable Electronic Devices (PEDs) and cyber assets within Transmission Substations in accordance with NERC CIP Standards
  • Assist in reviewing Substation single line drawings Grid Control Center drawings and network diagrams
  • Identify and classify Bulk Electric System (BES) Cyber Assets
  • Support identification and documentation of Electronic Security Perimeters (ESPs)
  • Contribute to Engineering Evaluation workbooks and supporting documentation for asset determinations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support NERC CIP compliance activities and evidence development
  • Assist in engineering assessments and compliance documentation efforts
  • Shadow Senior Engineer activities to gain hands-on experience in:
    • NERC CIP compliance
    • Regulatory interpretation
    • Audit support
  • Build readiness to take on increased responsibilities over time

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • 1 2 years of relevant experience

Skills

  • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting senior engineering staff
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of NERC CIP standards and compliance principles
  • Ability to analyze technical drawings and engineering documentation
