Job Summary

Position Overview

This role supports engineering and compliance activities related to NERC CIP standards within transmission substations. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with a Senior Engineer to analyze programmable electronic devices (PEDs) and cyber assets assist with system documentation and contribute to compliance-related evaluations and reporting.

The position provides hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance engineering assessments and audit preparation with an emphasis on developing technical and analytical capabilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Senior Engineer in analyzing Programmable Electronic Devices (PEDs) and cyber assets within Transmission Substations in accordance with NERC CIP Standards
Assist in reviewing Substation single line drawings Grid Control Center drawings and network diagrams
Identify and classify Bulk Electric System (BES) Cyber Assets
Support identification and documentation of Electronic Security Perimeters (ESPs)
Contribute to Engineering Evaluation workbooks and supporting documentation for asset determinations
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support NERC CIP compliance activities and evidence development
Assist in engineering assessments and compliance documentation efforts
Shadow Senior Engineer activities to gain hands-on experience in:
- NERC CIP compliance
- Regulatory interpretation
- Audit support
Build readiness to take on increased responsibilities over time

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience

1 2 years of relevant experience

Skills

Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Ability to work independently while supporting senior engineering staff
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
Strong organizational skills and follow-through

Desired Qualifications

Working knowledge of NERC CIP standards and compliance principles
Ability to analyze technical drawings and engineering documentation
