Job Summary

Domestic Considerations: Work routinely from RAF Digby. Required to attend training weekends at RAF Digby. Opportunity to deploy with the unit for annual 2-weeks of ACT attend courses relevant to the role and attend conferences/meetings away from the RAF Digby location as necessary.
Job Purpose:
To act as the full time staff officer of the Joint Service Signal Unit (Reserves) Support Squadron providing continuity assurance and day-to-day management across logistics infrastructure personnel support and operational preparation functions. The postholder enables delivery of JSSUR outputs by ensuring that all support activity is coherent auditable and aligned with Defence policy while deputising for the PTVR Support Squadron Commander when required. Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Equipment Assurance
Provide oversight and assurance for all Unit military stores equipment accounts and clothing requirements for Reservists. Ensure compliance with current accounting regulations audit standards and Defence logistics policy.
2. Unit MyDrive & MT Management
Manage the Units MyDrive system ensuring effective organisation and governance of files. Coordinate all Motor Transport (MT) requirements liaising with local MT services to meet training freight and operational needs.
3. Accommodation & Feeding Coordination
Oversight on all Unit accommodation and feeding arrangements for Operate to Train (OTT) and Annual Continuous Training (ACT) periods. Engage with external departments and host units to ensure timely bookings accurate forecasts and adherence to JPA/MOD policy.
4. Facilities Management Oversight
Monitor report and track all faults and maintenance issues within JSSUR facilities. Liaise with station facilities teams and relevant service providers to ensure timely resolution and maintain safe functional working environments.
5. Freight & Equipment Preparation
Prepare Unit stores and operational equipment for freight as required ensuring compliance with Defence Movement & Transport Regulations and safe handling practices.
6. Initial Personnel Support
Act as the focal point for new Reservist personnel between attestation and allocation to JSSUR operational squadrons. Provide induction initial administrative support and liaison with JSSUR staff to ensure a smooth transition into Unit life.
7. Deputise for OC Sp Sqn
Act as the deputy to the PTVR Support Squadron Commander assuming command responsibilities in their absence and providing continuity of leadership across all Sp Sqn functions.
