About this position:
Lake Michigan Insurance Agency (LMIA) owned by Lake Michigan Credit Union is seeking a professional and customer-focused Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role serves as the first point of contact for clients and visitors playing a key part in delivering a welcoming and efficient experience while supporting daily agency operations. If you are organized detail-oriented and enjoy interacting with people this is a great opportunity to grow within a collaborative and service-driven environment.
What youll do:
Serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitorsboth in person and over the phoneensuring a professional and welcoming experience
Answer incoming calls route inquiries to the appropriate team members and take accurate messages when needed
Greet clients assess their needs and connect them with the appropriate staff for assistance
Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties including: Maintaining records files and reports; Data entry and document management; General office support tasks
Support departmental overflow needs and assist team members as workload demands allow.
Actively monitor and process personal insurance referrals from branches and internal channels ensuring timely follow-up
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all interactions and documentation

Adhere to all applicable federal and state laws regulations and guidance; comply with LMCU policies and procedures; complete required training
What youll bring:
- 13 years of administrative customer service or related experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a courteous and professional demeanor
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Comfortable interacting with clients team members and external partners
- Reliable adaptable and willing to support team needs as they arise
- Proficiency in standard office software and systems (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Experience in an insurance or financial services environment is a plus.
