TITLE: Behavior Interventionist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To facilitate coordination of a positive learning environment that enhances the social and academic and social development of general and special education students who are experiencing behavior difficulties in the classroom.

- Bachelor Degree
- Arizona Elementary Teacher certification
- Minimum of three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience
- Training or related experience with RTI PBIS and Social Skills training for students
- Ability to coordinate activities with related and specialist staff
- May be required to control certain behavior(s) through physical restraint; therefore must possess a degree of physical strength and dexterity that exceeds the level required of general education teachers
- Experience analyzing student data and use of data to design instruction to maximize student learning

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area utilizing course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate supplemental learning activities.
- Instruct students in AZ College and Career Ready Standards Interventions.
- Analyze student data and use data to design instruction to maximize student learning.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Evaluate students academic and/or social growth keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
- Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assisting and helping students solve learning and attitude problems.
- Implement behavior modification program with students when appropriate.
- Facilitate positive interaction between parents of student and school staff as well as communicate with parents about behavior management strategies.
- Provide a variety of behavior management strategies when appropriate.
- Meet individual student needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
