Job Summary

A vacancy has arisen for a Sgt (People Ops Pers (Spt) to serve as the People Specialist Apprenticeship Centre SNCO at RAF Cosford on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 28 September 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status). Whilst the position is tied to RAF Cosfordthere will also be requirement to regularly visit the Specialisation Training School at MoD Worthy Down and each of the 7 HR Regions to conduct face to face activity with those involved in the new entrant note that during the initial Apprenticeship Centre set up period significant in-person presence will be required at RAF Cosford thereafter there will be opportunities for hybrid working including office home and travel by agreement with the Line Manager in conjunction with HQ RAF Apprenticeships.

The successful applicant will be part of a 2-person team employed as the People Specialist Apprenticeship Centre. Primary focus will be on the development and implementation of a new People Specialist Apprenticeship offer. Initially the role will be heavily focused on mapping the new Level 3 Apprenticeship in HR Support to the ST0239 national recognition standards. The Apprenticeship Centre will then be responsible for the implementation of the scheme to all People Specialist new entrants and the management of the Apprentice journey through to End Point Assessment (EPA).

Job Description

Support Apprenticeship Delivery: Map and coordinate training requirements for the Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship.

Provide Systems Training: Deliver clear structured training on key apprenticeship systems and maintain supporting materials.

Monitor Learner Progress: Conduct regular progress reviews set SMART goals and address barriers to achievement.

Maintain Accurate Data: Ensure learner records are up to date produce routine progress reports and support audit requirements.

Engage Stakeholders: Work collaboratively with training teams the Apprenticeship Centre and assessment bodies.

Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Support quality accreditation and development activities across the programme.
