What youll do

As a School Psychologist youll provide comprehensive psychological services including assessments counseling and interventions to support the academic and emotional success of our students. Youll regularly collaborate with educators administrators families and external partners to create a nurturing and effective learning environment for our Freire Wilmington students.

Responsibilities

Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct psychological evaluations to identify students cognitive academic and social-emotional needs and determine eligibility for special education services.
Counseling and Intervention: Provide individual and group counseling to students facing academic behavioral or emotional challenges. Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to student needs.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers academic advisors and the emotional support team to develop strategies that promote student well-being and academic achievement.
Crisis Management: Participate in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies ensuring the safety and well-being of the school community.
Mentorship: Mentor and supervise psychology and social work interns from local university partners.
Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school policies and state regulations.

Minimum requirements

Valid Delaware Educator License or eligibility for licensure in Delaware REQUIRED
Delaware School Psychologist Standard Certificate or eligibility to obtain REQUIRED
Masters degree and Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) or higher
Prior experience working with urban youth preferred.
Proficiency in conducting psychological assessments developing intervention plans and providing counseling services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
