The Analyst Supply & Trading (Ontario & NYISO) supports the management of commodity exposure and commercial performance of the Ontario generation fleet. This role provides analytical operational and commercial support across dispatch optimization fuel procurement speculation and contract management.
This position is well suited for a commercially minded analyst with strong analytical skills and an interest in power and gas markets assetbacked portfolios and complex contractual frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support analysis of dispatch strategy and commodity exposure for Ontario contracted thermal assets.
- Assist with natural gas procurement storage utilization and transport analysis to support reliable and economic operations.
- Develop and maintain analytical tools reports and market summaries related to power and gas markets.
- Support interpretation and tracking of contractual provisions.
- Monitor market fundamentals pricing and system conditions in the Ontario power and gas markets.
- Coordinate with trading operations risk and asset teams to support daytoday commercial decisionmaking.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering economics finance mathematics or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel; experience with Python SQL or similar tools is an asset.
- Interest in power and gas markets asset optimization and commodity trading.
- Strong attention to detail communication skills and willingness to learn in a fastpaced environment.
Working Conditions:
In-office position with limited travel required
