Job Summary

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canadas only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility Westridge Marine Terminal with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a federal Crown corporation Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.

With our expanded pipeline system now in place Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. The expansion realizes a world-class system for oil transport developed to Canadas high standards within one of the most stringent regulatory regimes in the world creating long-term economic benefits enhanced marine protection enhanced safety and emergency management capabilities and enhanced skilled-worker capacity building in communities and Indigenous groups.

Work Setting:Site

As aSupervisor Operations with Trans Mountain youll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of experts in the Pipeline Operations department.

Reporting to the Manager Operations this position is responsible for supervising and managing field operations for staff in Puget District to ensure safe reliable compliant and efficient operations. Staff include technical trade technicians administrative staff pipeline maintenance pipeline protection and Emergency Response Technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage daily work responsibilities for direct reports. To include coaching and performance management.
  • Support with budgets for area of responsibility.
  • Support the facilitation of training and completion of competencies for direct reports.
  • Support with regulatory compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
  • Work collaboratively with other Trans Mountain districts and departments.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings. Safety operations compliance etc.
  • Communications: Internal and External: safety operations compliance etc.
  • Interact with external stakeholders as required.
  • Support management of contractors within district following CCAP standards.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Technical Diploma or skilled trades certification.
  • Required to be legal to travel to Canada for training.
  • Legally able to work in US.
  • Minimum 10 years of technical experience with the pipeline industry and/or related industrial industry.
  • Successful completion of High School with equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading staff; to provide coaching and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety safety of company assets and employees and safety of the public.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid drivers license.
