A University of Louisville Medical Center Associate network engineer will have responsibility for setting up developing and maintaining computer networks within an organization or between organizations. You will offer support to users who can be staff clients customers and suppliers and troubleshoot any problems that arise.Job Description:
- Install hardware such as cables hubs routers and wireless adaptors.
- Configure network drivers for software.
- Analyze engineer and execute software functions.
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
- Upgrade network hardware and software components as required.
- Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources.
- Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
- Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
- Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
- Configure routing and switching equipment IP voice services and firewalls.
- Liaise with project management teams other network engineers and End User Computing staff on a regular basis.
- Speak to customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture and incident resolution.

Job Requirements
(Education Experience Licensure and Certification)
Education:
- Preferred: Bachelors degree in information systems or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Required: Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

Computer Skills:
- Typing at least 60 words per minute
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel Word PowerPoint
- Capacity to learn other relevant systems and hospital medical records
- Knowledge of database management
