Job Overview
The material handler is responsible for all assigned tasks relating to inventory control including inventory cycle counts and communicating inventory needs. Other responsibilities are as follows: item journal input inventory reconciliations forecasting future inventory requirements pulling packing and staging inventory accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Work with the inventory manager to identify fast-moving parts to stock. As well as long lead time items.
- Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to the inventory manager or procurement manager.
- Maintains inventory by identifying labeling and placing materials or supplies in stock; recording the location of inventory in D365.
- Generating item journals to charge out goods pulled from stock.
- Works with Expeditors/Parts Sales/Service to locate materials or supplies by pulling and issuing out inventory as requested.
- Preparing outbound inventory shipments for shipping and receiving clerk.
- Handles inventory cycle counts physical mid-year and end-of-year inventory counts.
- Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets trays racks shelves and vehicles by hand or forklift operation.
- Resolves inventory problems promptly.
- Track and report non-conforming products.
- Identify obsolete inventory.
- Assist to identify additional stock based on usage and demand.
- Abel to work in a warehouse environment.
- Other duties assigned by manager.
Requirements/Qualifications
Experience with cycle counting/inventory; Solid mathematical skills; basic computer skills; understanding of the goods being procured; excellent communication skills both written and verbal; good interpersonal skills for working with various departments; excellent planning skills organizational skills and attention to detail; problem-solving skills; flexible scheduling. Knowledge of construction and or diesel-powered equipment preferred. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently. Physically able to climb stairs routinely. Pass Bigges forklift training.
