The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of energy and possess a comprehensive understanding of operational delivery. This includes effective collaboration with service desk teams engineering staff and leaders in global incident problem and change management.
Key Responsibilities:
As an AVD Engineer in EUCS you will:
Build and maintain the AVD infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.
Understand the architecture and components of AVD such as host pools session hosts app groups workspaces and user profiles.
Manage and support Cloud PC (Windows 365) environments including provisioning policy management and troubleshooting.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to optimize performance reliability and security across AVD and Cloud PC platforms.
Manage and troubleshoot AVD and Cloud PC resources using the Azure portal PowerShell and Azure CLI.
Configure and secure AVD networking such as virtual networks subnets network security groups and firewalls.
Implement and optimize AVD storage such as Azure Files Azure NetApp Files and FSLogix.
Monitor and optimize AVD and Cloud PC performance including scaling load balancing and diagnostics.
Utilize Nexthink technology for end-user experience monitoring issue identification and proactive troubleshooting.
Integrate AVD and Cloud PC with other Azure services such as Azure Active Directory Azure Backup and Azure Monitor.
Apply best practices and recommendations for AVD and Cloud PC deployment and management.
Troubleshoot user/Pool issues including:
Assist with client installs (RDP client / Windows 365 access)
Client connection issues
Application troubleshooting (as it pertains to AVD and Cloud PC)
Performance monitoring and issue resolution using Nexthink and native tools
AVD Pool maintenance
Software installs and configuration into AVD pools based on Pearson standards
Build and configure AVD host pools based on Pearson standard builds
Skills:
Experience with VDI technologies such as AVD and Windows 365 (Cloud PC) including image management deployment monitoring and maintenance.
Basic knowledge or hands-on experience with Nexthink for end-user experience monitoring and analytics.
Experience with modern device deployment techniques.
Experience working in a mixed skillset team in an agile fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a systematic approach to problem solving.
Good understanding of the Microsoft Azure platform and experience in AVD and Cloud PC deployment and management.
Open to learning new technologies ways of working and processes while maintaining high standards of technical expertise.
Experience with Nerdio Microsoft Intune PowerShell and AZ-140 certification is an added advantage.
Note:
5 years of experience in relevant technology (AVD / VDI)
Decent knowledge and understanding of Cloud Concepts
Decent knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure ecosystem
Strong knowledge and understanding of Azure Virtual Desktop solution and Windows 365 (Cloud PC)
