Job Summary
Primary Purpose Of Position
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of digital media. The primary responsibilities for the position include teaching undergraduate level courses especially in the programs mass media production concentration including digital audio and radio in addition to conducting research and grant writing academic/student advising student mentoring and recruitment curriculum development conducting scholarly activities and all other activities required for tenure. Additionally an ideal candidate will be expected to create courses on films and documentary production; knowledge of animation is desired for this position. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to engaging in accreditation procedures program assessment and service to the department College and University as needed. This is a 9-month tenure-track faculty position.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have Ph.D. in mass communication journalism media or a Ph.D. closely related field with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Years Experience Skills Training Education
Earned Ph.D. in Journalism Mass Communications or Media. Additionally Candidates with the following are preferred: - Professional training - Teaching experience at the University level - Research experience at the University level
