We are seeking an inspiring Geography Teacher to join a dynamic Humanities faculty in Portsmouth. As the UKs only island city with its deep maritime heritage and unique coastal challenges Portsmouth provides a living laboratory for any Geographer. We are looking for a specialist who can help students navigate the big questions of the 21st centuryclimate change sustainability and global inequality.


Core Responsibilities

  • Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-quality enquiry-based lessons across KS3 & KS4 with potential opportunities to teach A-Level Geography.

  • Fieldwork Leadership: Designing and leading rigorous local and national fieldwork investigations utilising Portsmouths coastal and urban landscapes to teach data collection and analysis.

  • Geospatial Literacy: Developing students ability to interpret complex GIS (Geographic Information Systems) ordnance survey maps and satellite imagery.

  • Curriculum Innovation: Creating resources that link theoretical concepts to contemporary global events such as natural disasters migration patterns and international development.

  • Exam Mastery: Guiding GCSE cohorts through the AQA or Edexcel B specifications focusing on case study depth and the command of command words to secure outstanding progress.

  • Sustainability Advocacy: Leading school-wide initiatives on environmental awareness eco-councils and Green Career pathways.
