Job Summary
Job Title: Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Honokaa Hawaii
Job Type: Contract
Position Urgency: Normal
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Varied 8-hour shifts (Days Evenings Nights)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care within a hospital-based long-term care setting. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments administer treatments support daily living activities and collaborate closely with providers to ensure optimal resident outcomes. This role requires excellent clinical judgment flexibility with scheduling and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nursing assessments and ongoing evaluations of residents in long-term care.
- Administer medications treatments and follow care plans as directed.
- Notify physicians or nurse practitioners of significant changes or relevant clinical information.
- Manage admissions and discharges including documentation and care coordination.
- Provide ADL assistance as necessary.
- Perform specialized care such as:
- Gastrostomy tube care
- Urinary catheter care
- Nebulizer treatments
- Wound VAC care
- CPAP setup and monitoring
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the facilitys EMR system.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership.
- Support residents with compassion dignity and respect.
- Varied 8-hour shifts:
- Days: 7:30 AM 3:30 PM
- Evenings: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
- Nights: 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
- Includes weekends and holidays.
- Overtime rotation may be required.
- No guaranteed hours or shift preference.
- Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment.
- Candidates without a current Hawaii license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance.
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience preferably in Long Term Care.
- Familiarity with hospital-based LTC operations.
- EPIC EMR experience preferred.
- Strong communication assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and handle multiple priorities.
- Bilingual not required.
- BLS/BCLS (required)
- Travelers must arrive the Thursday before the assignment begins to attend employee health processing on Friday.
- Candidates must commit to the onboarding timeline to avoid delays.
