Job Summary
Primary Purpose Of Position
The School of Nursing within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is seeking a clinical track assistant/associate professor whose teaching and clinical agenda is focused on Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising student mentoring and recruitment curriculum development and engagement in program assessment accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses including didactic and clinical practicum; (ii) supervise and support DNP student projects; and (iii) provide service to the SON the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 12-month non-tenure-track position.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of a DNP or Ph.D. in nursing is required. Demonstrates pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to psychiatric/mental health nursing
Preferred Years Experience Skills Training Education
Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursings educational requirement is required. Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for mental health. Teaching experiences in advanced pathophysiology. Nurse Educator Certification. Skills with Blackboard LMS Banner INB and Microsoft Office Support Software preferred Demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusiveness collaboration and diversity in alignment with the Universitys commitment to maintaining and enhancing a diverse environment.
