- School coaching experience preferred

Qualities:
- Maintain a positive working relationship with Intermediate and High School basketball staff members to develop coordinate implement and evaluate the MJHS basketball program within the MCS system
- Perform duties assigned to all coaches by administrators
- Work with the administration to achieve district goals described within the Maryville City Schools Strategic Plan document
- Consider athletics as part of the total educational program encouraging athletes to work to their maximum ability in both academics and sports
- Maintain effective working relationships with school administrators governing organizations (TMSAA) opponents officials staff parents and students while the Girls Basketball Program.
- Dynamic communicator and motivator of student-athletes
- Develop and maintains a positive educational environment on the court
- Manage and supervise athletic activities contests and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills teamwork discipline respect and good sportsmanship.
- Coordinate the development promotion and retention of the Girls Basketball Program
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of the game as well as extensive knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures.
- Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.
- Develop and incorporate a plan for off-season and pre-season strength training as well as promotion of a year round healthy lifestyle.
- Actively support student athlete secondary schoolgoals.
- Incorporate best practices into a growth-oriented teaching/coaching style
- Possess the ability to assess players and coaches effectively.
- Be willing to accept a high level of accountability.
