Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
We are currently seeking a part-timeMedication Room Assistantto join our team atBig Muddy River Correctional Centerlocated inIna Illinois.
TheMedication Room Assistantworks under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. This person will:
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of medication room records
- Assist with the maintenance of medication room inventory and audit procedures
- Maintain the securityof all medications and supplies under their control or supervision
- Processessupply requests in a prompt cooperative and efficient manner
- Confirmsordered medications are received
- Logs outgoing medications
- Assists with the delivery of medications as determined by site administration
Qualifications
- Be a high school graduate or hold a GED
- 1 year correctional health care or hospital pharmacyexperience preferred.
- History of being well organized communication effectively and detail oriented
- Knowledge of correctional healthcare principles and practices preferred; along with knowledge of applicable state and federal laws
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
- Ability to obtain a security clearance to include drug screen and criminal background check
Training schedule: Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Schedule once training is complete: Tuesday-Saturday 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
