Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and company policies
- Implement and monitor site-specific Health & Safety Plans
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
- Ensure all safety files are up to date and compliant
- Enforce the use of PPE (helmets harnesses gloves etc.)
- Monitor high-risk activities (working at heights glass installation lifting operations)
- Stop unsafe work practices immediately
- Investigate incidents accidents and near-misses
- Compile and submit detailed incident reports
- Implement corrective and preventative measures
- Conduct site safety inductions for employees and subcontractors
- Provide toolbox talks and ongoing safety training
- Ensure all workers are competent and certified for their tasks
- Maintain safety registers checklists and compliance records
- Ensure subcontractor compliance (medicals PPE legal documents)
- Submit weekly/monthly safety reports to management
- Work closely with site managers project managers and subcontractors
- Attend safety meetings and audits
- Ensure compliance with client-specific safety requirements
- National Diploma or Certificate in Health & Safety
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Fall Protection Plan (advantageous)
- Minimum 23 years experience in construction/site safety
- Experience in aluminium glazing or façade installation is highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations
- Attention to detail and hazard identification
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and enforce rules
- Working at heights (scaffolding suspended platforms)
- Glass handling and installation risks
- Use of power tools and lifting equipment
- Site coordination with multiple subcontractors
