An exciting temporary opportunity to 31 August 2026 is available for a Project Officer within the Divestments team at Crown Lands Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure.

The Project Officer supports the delivery of Crown land sales easements and Divestments projects to help achieve government priorities in the management of Crown land.

The role undertakes project work across Crown land sales easements and property management activities. You will contribute to the delivery of complex land use and development projects providing research analysis and advice to support decision-making providing expert advice to our senior leadership team and various internal and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing Crown land sales and easement applications and preparing executive briefs to support complex property dealings
  • Conducting land status investigations to ensure Crown land is suitable for sale or easement creation and liaising with colleagues in Status and Legal teams to ensure alignment with internal policy and legislative requirements
  • Engaging and coordinating external professional service providers including planners valuers and legal advisors
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams industry stakeholders and community groups

What you will bring to the role

  • You will bring experience in property land administration or development projects and the ability to analyse complex information to support project delivery and decision making.
  • You will demonstrate:
    • Project management experience with the ability to balance financial constraints with customer outcomes
    • Experience in operationalising strategy and responding to shifts in policy and procedural requirements in an efficient manner
    • Strong research and analytical capability
    • Excellent written communication skills and experience in drafting high level procedures ministerial responses and executive briefs
    • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills exercising discretion and managing reputational risk

Essential requirements

Tertiary qualifications in property or a related field and/or equivalent experience
