Job Summary

This is an identified position for First Nations people. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of First Nations cultures and issues communities and protocols and the ability to build strong respectful relationships with First Nations stakeholders. About the role 

Working closely with the Senior Manager Reconciliation youll play a central role in supporting the delivery of AFCAs Innovatelevel Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Youll help embed reconciliation across the organisation not as a document on a shelf but as real measurable actions that strengthen outcomes for First Nations peoples. 

This is a role for someone who is organised proactive and valuesdriven and who wants to be part of longterm systemic change. This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract. 

Typically in this role you will: 

  • Support the coordination and delivery of AFCAs Innovatelevel RAP aligned to Reconciliation Australias expectations. 
  • Maintain RAP documentation action trackers evidence records and progress reporting across Relationships Respect and Opportunities. 
  • Support RAP reporting submissions presentations and governance updates. 
  • Coordinate culturally respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders Elders and community organisations. 
  • Support the Reconciliation Working Group by preparing materials documenting outcomes and tracking followup actions. 
  • Respond to Senior Leadership enquiries with clear timely RAP updates. 
  • Assist with workshops engagement activities and internal capabilitybuilding initiatives. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing materials and improving coordination processes. 

Qualifications :

What youll bring 

  • Strong understanding of Reconciliation Action Plans particularly Innovatelevel RAPs and a genuine commitment to reconciliation. 
  • Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples communities and organisations. 
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills with strong attention to detail. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills including reporting and briefing. 
  • Experience supporting governance processes meetings and action tracking. 
  • Confidence using digital tools such as Microsoft Office Teams and SharePoint. 
  • A valuesled approach that reflects fairness accountability respect and transparency.
